Being an architect is much like being a doctor. We do not offer a prescription until we perform a diagnosis. We do not perform a diagnosis without including an examination that goes beyond what the client tells us. The examination above all, requires attentive listening where we absorb an understanding of the critical goals of our clients.

Our successful relationships are the result of a

four-step process:

1. Gather all possible data about the project.

2. Organize the data to identify three key points:

      a. What is known for sure

      b. What is not known

      c. What is undecided

3. Create a diagnosis summary of what the client needs and verify that the client agrees with the diagnosis.

4. Provide information and propose reliable options for further action.
